OIFE in China
At the conference we were invited to visit Dr. To and our Chinese friends from Zero One in the Chinese city of Shenzhen. So on November 3rd we took the one hour journey from Hong Hong to mainland China. It was an unforgettable day where we became familiar with the huge metro system, where staff was present at every station to cover the gap.

We also got the story of the Dumpling Shop, which is run by the OI-group Zero One and located at Hong Kong University hospital in Shenzhen. The purpose is to provide job training to people with OI and other disabilities, to make it easier for them to enter the job market. And the dumplings? Probably the best we will ever eat in our whole life!

After lunch, we got a full tour of the Orthopedic department led by Dr. To. We saw the rehab ward, the pool and we even got to say hello to a patient with OI. In Shenzhen you can get access to your xrays through a self service machine right after the scan. And some of us was even privileged to meet the hospital director himself.

After this we met up with Luna from Zero One, for a coffee at a very special and exclusive place. When we got back to Hong Kong in the evening, our heads were so full of impressions that we probably need weeks to process our one day in China.

Thank you for the hospitality and the dumplings. It was truly unforgettable!
